2 Week Holiday and 1st Draft
Hello!!!!
Sorry about the very late update. I was busy studying for the HSC half yearly’s and then having to do the half yearlys, and also with Easter. Mostly all of this in 3 weeks. But that doesn’t matter now. The great news is that I’ve been working on my 1st draft throughout the 2 week holidays but since the Bethany Home page is down I haven’t been able to contact Sir and ask him some questions concerning my draft. So I’ll have to talk to him during class when I hand up a hard copy of my draft. My 1st draft is missing parts of sections which is typical to expect, but I’m really glad that I started it and that is it in progress. I know when I hand it into Sir, I’m not going to be proud of it because I have heaps of other info to put in.
Also, I finally went to Sydney Uni on the 22nd of April (Wednesday) and borrowed the book, The Renaissance in Rome by Charles L. Stinger. I’m going to start reading it soon and writing notes on information that I find about PJII.
On the 23rd of April (Thursday) I went to the State Library and photocopied relevant parts of the book, The Pope’s Daughter by Caroline Murphy. And also another book that I found to contain relevant information was The Italian Renaissance: Culture and Society in Italy by Peter Burke.
I’m really happy with the new information that I have found and I will be spending time reading the material and incorporating new information into my 2nd draft.
Sadly I wasn’t able to find the other books that the Professors advised me:
· A Renaissance Likeness: Art and Culture in Raphael’s Julius II by Loren Partridge and Randolph Starn
· The entry for Julius II in the Papacy: An Encyclopedia by Routledge
During the holidays I have also been reading thoroughly through the assignment booklet about the Major and seeing if I have succeeded the criteria.
I have also been wondering how the other girls are doing with their Majors and also if Sir could show us an example of someone’s Major work from last year’s History Extension class.
Lastly, I’m soon going to start organising my bibliography and choosing which 3 sources I’m going to select to use in my annotated bibliography.
Anyways, till next time.
CIAO!
